Ikea Craft Room Storage

Ikea has quickly become the go to storage for crafters. It is easy to store our 12 x 12 supplies and fairly easy to put everything together. I have been using my Ikea Expedit shelves for over a year and I love them! I really dislike seeing all of my supplies out in the open for everyone to see, including myself so I came up with a solution to fix my problem.

ikea5This solution was gorgeous and I loved that I was able to use my favorite paper. This solution was also free and all it cost me was my favorite paper pad. Unfortunately after a year of use, it started to fall apart. I was going to remake it with foam board and strengthen everything, but I realized that the whole system wasn’t working for me. Everything was thrown into a shelf and hidden with a piece of paper. Nothing was labeled and I was searching for where everything was stored.

ikea1I finally decided to invest in Kassett boxes from Ikea. They were a faily good price at $9.99 for a pack of 2. You do have to put them together yourself, but they are easy to assemble. It just takes some time and it’s messy.

ikea2Once all of your boxes are put together the fun part comes, reorganizing all of your stuff and putting them in your new storage boxes. I found that I was able to fit more in my boxes then before I had them. The only problem is that I cannot fit my 12 x 12 albums in the Kassett boxes, but that is a small issue to have when the boxes look so good and they fit so much stuff in them.

January 2015 Project Life

The journey of project life 2015 has begun! I find that if I print my pictures and filler cards each week and journal it is so much easier to keep up with it. Then at the end of the month I embellish. Here are my Project Life layouts from January.

January 2015 Favorites

Today is Fabruary 1st and that means it’s time for my January favorites. Each month I plan on sharing what my most used items and my favorite products were of the previous month. The first ones I will be sharing with you are crafting related. Then I plan on adding any extra items that I have been loving. This month I have more beauty favorites than anything else… I explain a little bit about each item in the video.

Now you may be wondering where you can get all of these wonderful products as well. Here are the links to almost everything I mentioned in the video.

New Look for 2015

Hello crafters! If you haven’t noticed already, there is a new look to my blog. A while back I made a very scary mistake and I accidentally deleted my entire blog!! Very scary!!! I was able to get all of my old content back, but I lost all of my new content. It was sad, but then I realized that at least I still had videos and some pictures backed up onto my computer. I am still working on fixing those blog posts, but for now I am moving on and looking forward to the future.

There are some new sections I have added to the blog including an updated about me section, craft rooms of present and past, as well as my project galleries. You can view all of those pages in the links above.

Some new things coming to Jenuine Crafts this year is an online shop. I can’t wait until I can share my new shop with you. Until then, I will be working hard behind the scenes. I am also going to be adding more of a personal touch to my blog. New posts will include personal stories, planner series, organization, and home decor. For those of you who are following my other blog, Wow So Cute, I am planning on reserving that for posts that don’t quite fit here. Those will include recipes and a place to house my love of reading which will include reviews, booktube videos, and more. Make sure to follow me on my social media sites to stay in touch as I tweak this little blog of mine.

Happy 2015!

Happy 2015 everyone!! I hope you all had a safe and happy new year. My husband and I stayed in and watched some movies. At midnight we saw fireworks from the neighbors’ backyard “firework show” and lit our own sparklers. It was freezing outside so we did all of this from inside and holding our hands out of the door. Did I mention in was freezing!? 34 degrees!! That’s cold for us Arizonans that don’t live in the north. It even snowed in the valley!! Not by my house, but it snowed downtown where my parents live!! OMG, crazy!! Now that the new year has officially begun, it’s time to start on those new years resolutions.

As you know, I posted about my Crafty Resolutions last week and my number one goal is to scrapbook more. I started this morning, as I do every morning, checking my email. The very first one in my inbox was from Scraptastic. Well, I canceled my subscription to Scraptastic last month so December was the last kit that I received. I love the kit, but I haven’t used one since June! They were piling up and it was getting out of hand. I still get the emails so I decided to take a peek. OMG, they are the cutest kits EVER!!!!

sweaterLook at this one! This one is called sweater weather and I want it so badly! It also came with a stamp set that you could add on.

snowmanI totally would have gotten both of these, but guess what… SOLD OUT!! I was devastated.

I thought I would just take a look at the other kit and see what that one looked like and that one is super cute too!!

butterflyThis one is not sold out and I almost bought it. Look at that pink wood grain paper! Even looking at the picture now makes me want to go back and get it. I then realized why I had stopped getting these kits and any other scrapbooking supply, I’m not using it fast enough. So here is a goal to help me reach my resolution of scrapbooking more. I will make at least 4 layouts a month and if I do, I can purchase a scraptastic kit for the next month, if they are still available. If I can keep that up for 4 months (16 layouts) I will start my subscription again. Who’s with me?

New Years Card

2015 is almost here and I am so excited to share with you a new card. The reason I am so excited is the fact that I made it with my friend, Pon. Pon has been wanted to get into crafting and card making for a while now. She’s really considering making to jump into the crafting world and I thought it would be the perfect thing to show her how to make a card. I told her the easiest way to get started was to use some inspiration. We hopped on Pinterest and she found a card that she wanted to replicate.

We used a lot of techniques, products, and tools for this card because I wanted to show her different supplies that are available. If you are a beginning card maker or crafter, just keep in mind that it took me almost 5 years to get to this point. So here is our take on the card…

I have also created two SVG files for the champagne glasses. If you would like a copy, please leave a comment below with your email address and I will send them to you.

2015 Crafty Resolutions

This year my big goal was to get more creative. I feel like I started new things, like scrapbooking, and I really enjoyed it. I also feel like I got a little overwhelmed with everyday life and became super busy. This year I plan on making more time for being creative. My two major goals are to scrapbook more and premake cards.

I love scrapbooking and reliving memories that make me smile. I love the process of scrapbooking and also the product of scrapbooking, preserving memories. I primary started crafting as a card maker. I loved, and still love, making cards. I would spend hours working on a card that would either be given away and thrown away or just put in a box never to be seen again. I was getting burnt out and I was tired of just hiding my work away. That’s when I decided to focus on scrapbooking. I could still spend hours on a layout or even just 5 minutes on a layout and even if the layout was put in a closed album, I would still pull it out every once in a while and relive those memories. Not only that, but others could enjoy those layouts as well. This year I only created 14 layouts!!! Seriously!!?? In 2015 I would like to create at least 2-4 layouts a month. Can I do it? We shall see.

With my focus shifting to scrapbooking, I don’t want to forget about my love for card making. I have a beautiful craft room with amazing supplies and when it comes time when I need a card, I have to time to make one! I would like to focus on making simple cards and making a stockpile so instead of making a card at the last minute, I can pull one out that I’ve already made and be stress free!!

Custom Planner Stickers

With the new year coming, many of you are probably wanting to get a bit more organized. It may even be one of your New Years Resolutions. Well I have my share of planners and I’ve always had a hard time keeping up with them. The best way for me to keep up with a planner is to figure out what I need to organize. Planning out my every day life is great, but most of the time I don’t get to check off items on my to-do list and then I feel like a failure and that makes me not want to plan anymore. 🙁

So I thought really hard about what I’d like to start organizing first and that is my blogs. I have two YouTube channels and two blogs now and one of my personal internet resolutions is to keep up with them. I made some really great planner stickers for you bloggers/video makers out there. If you’d like a free download, go ahead and visit this link. I made the file in photoshop and I imported it into Cricut design space to create the cut file. I can’t share the cut file with you since I imported my own photo, but you can definitely follow the steps in the video below to see how I made my own cut file.

I plan on making more DIY planner stickers so keep checking back for more. If you have any requests for planner stickers that you would like to see, leave them in the comments below. Also, if you haven’t become a follower on my blog yet, make sure to check the sidebar to start following me through Blog Lovin’.

Until next time, happy crafting!!

This may be one of my last updates on my crafting blog. That’s because I just created a personal blog Wow So Cute. Make sure to head on over to that blog after the update video!
